A case report of Dapsone Hypersensitivity Syndrome in a Child with Lepromatous Leprosy and Potential Genetic Element

Dapsone hypersensitivity syndrome (DHS) is characterized by fever, skin rash, eosinophilia, lymphadenopathy, and multi systemic manifestations following therapy [1]. The incidence of DHS ranges from 0.5-3% while the time commencement to onset symptoms varies several hours six months might lead irreversible organ damage or fatality if not recognized early managed appropriately Genetic component involved in pathogenesis relatives index case are at increased risk developing similar adverse events [5]. Here, we going report a child, who presented with clinical biochemical features treatment, given for management Lepromatous Leprosy (LL), whose father had also developed suggestive DHS, on treatment LL.
